USA: Taco Bell in Chicago will have a security guard

Taco Bell in Wicker Park in Chicago will have a security guard at the door on weekends, DNAInfo reports. The fast-food restaurant will also stop selling liquor by midnight when it opens next month.

The bouncer and the curtailed hours were part of concessions hammered out at a community meeting in June, DNAInfo wrote. Neighbors were concerned about underage drinking and late-night carousing.

Called Taco Bell Cantina, it will serve beer, wine, sangria, and Twisted Freezes, a frozen alcoholic beverage.

City Liquor Commissioner Greg Steadman will soon OK the plan, Bill O'Donaghue, a lawyer for Neil Borkan, a Lincolnshire-based franchisee who owns the Wicker Park Taco Bell along with 34 other stores, told DNAInfo.

Taco Bell announced in June that it would serve beer, wine and "mixed alcohol freezes" at the Wicker Park location, which will have a new design it's testing in urban markets.
