Burger King : Mac n' Cheetos

Share this Post Email This Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share on Google Plus Share on Tumblr

Mac n' Cheetos are a deep-fried macaroni and cheese product based on the Frito-Lay snack Cheetos.

Mac n' Cheetos were first introduced in late June 2016 and sold at Burger King in limited supplies. The original product contained five pieces and was initially served with a side of ranch dressing. Today, Mac n' Cheetos are available frozen at grocery stores around the United States.

Many publications have pointed out that Mac n' Cheetos is part of a larger trend of blending fast foods with well-known snack foods, as well as reflecting the current state of fast food alliances.

USA: Burger King is adding hot dogs to its menu

Share this Post Email This Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share on Google Plus Share on Tumblr
Burger King announced the addition of a $1.99 "classic" hot dog and a $2.29 "chili cheese" dog to its flame-grilled menu.
  • The Oscar Mayer-brand hot dogs will be available nationwide by Feb. 23, 2016.

Burger King is broadening its menu to include two different kinds of grilled hot dogs permanently hitting the menu at its roughly 7,100 U.S. locations later this month. The launch has Burger King poised to steal a sizable bite of a market dominated by convenience stores, wholesale clubs and retailers like Home Depot.

With the addition of a classic grilled dog and a chili cheese dog, Burger King is also expanding its menu to include one of America's favorite processed meats at a time when the fast food industry has been scrambling to find ways to appeal to more health-conscious customers with additions such as kale salad and sides of fruit.

Burger King partnered with Oscar Mayer to create a proprietary 100% beef hot dog, which Macedo says will stand apart from most options consumers have because it is "flame grilled" in the restaurant instead of boiled or put on a "roller," the cooking method often seen in convenience stores. The classic hot dog will sell for $1.99 and the chili cheese dog for $2.29.

Burger King joins smaller fast food companies including Dairy Queen and Sonic as one of the few major restaurant chains to offer hot dogs, an item typically relegated to summer barbecues and 4th of July celebrations — and still far overshadowed by hamburgers regardless.

The burger made its debut in Japan back in 2014 and has seen modest success in the Asian region. The American version will come with A.1. steak sauce, hence the “H A.1.LOWEEN” name.

TOKYO, JAPAN – SEPTEMBER 18: A Burger King employee holds two black hamburgers at a company restaurant on September 18, 2014 in Tokyo, Japan. The black burgers, one a Kuro Pearl (L) at 480 yen, has black buns and cheese smoked with bamboo charcoal and black sauce made of squid ink. The other, the Kuro Diamond at 690 yen, comes also with lettuce, tomato, onion and mayonnaise. The burgers are available from September 19 through early November in Burger King restaurants throughout Japan.

USA : chicken nuggets price wars

Share this Post Email This Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share on Google Plus Share on Tumblr

Burger King today is slashing the price for a 10-piece serving of its Chicken Nuggets to $1.49, dealing a double blow to McDonald's, where Chicken McNuggets carry Monopoly game pieces and where "core products" such as McNuggets have been a marketing focus.

The limited-time offer cuts the price for Burger King's Nuggets to nearly one-third the $4.29 price for 10 Chicken McNuggets. McDonald's Dollar Menu & More offers a 20-piece McNuggets for $5, but Burger King now offers that many for just under $3.

Chicken McNuggets have been an important, iconic menu item for McDonald's since their introduction nationally in 1983. The chain has fooled with them very little since, although this summer it tested Shakin' Flavor Chicken McNuggets. Like the Shakin' Flavor Fries it also has tried, the McNuggets test served them in a bag for shaking with Spicy Buffalo, Garlic Parmesan or Zesty Ranch flavorings.

Japan : Burger King invents black cheese for its black burger

Share this Post Email This Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share on Google Plus Share on Tumblr
Japan is a nation known for its love of culinary oddities, and starting Sept. 19, Burger King  plans to indulge that love with black cheese.

That’s right, Burger King Japan has announced the latest iteration of its “Kuro” burger (“kuro” meaning “black” in Japanese), first introduced last year. The buns are black, the sauce is black, and this year, the cheese will be black as well.

According to the gaming site Kotaku.com, the buns and the new cheese addition get their coloring from bamboo charcoal, while the accompanying onion and garlic sauce is prepared with squid ink, and the hamburger patties are made with black pepper, just for good measure.

There are two versions of the burger. The Kuro Pearl has a black pattie, cheese and sauce, while the more substantial Kuro Diamond, also has lettuce, tomato and onion.

The creation is available in two forms: The simple Kuro Pearl will sell for 480 yen ($4.49), while the fancier Kuro Diamond — which includes regular-colored tomatoes and lettuce — will run you 690 yen.

Dunkin Donuts i Taco Bell

Domino’s Pizza

  • Headquartered in Ann Arbor, MI
  • 5,016 USA stores (10/14).
  • The new store incorporates a pizza theater store design, comprising a lobby, a clear view of the food preparing process, a lobby screen which electronically keeps track of carryout orders and a chalkboard where customers can leave a feedback.
